Friendly online community for C++ learners.
The server stores your host, your operating system, your browser, and referring page in the server’s log file when you access C++ Learning Community (CPPLC.net). This information is stored, by default, by most websites. We do not use this information to track individual users; these log files are analysed by statistical packages to determine trends in visitor patterns, such as which pages are most popular and which referrers send the most visitors. Your host name is used only to determine statistics about the site’s percentages of traffic from various countries.
You are not required to register to view messages posted in our online forum. However, you are required to register before you can make any post. With each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from this website or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of major violation of the terms of usage of the forum or in response to persistent attacks on the system.
Also note that the software places a cookie, a text file containing bits of information (such as your username and password), in your browser’s cache. This is ONLY used to keep you logged in/out. The software does not collect or send any other form of information to your computer.
We do not track individual users on the site, except in extreme cases to respond to persistent attacks on the system, such as when a user spams the forum or bombard the site with server request in a Denial of Services (DoS) attack. We use the information obtained from the server logs to improve the layout of the site and to make educated guesses as to what could be improved.
We do not partner with or have special relationships with any ad server companies, and at this present time, have no intention of ever having such partnership.
