I want to play around with different graphic librarys 2D->3D.  Pick the easy to use ones to the hard to use ones if you post more then one Smiley.

I'd say start with allegro. Just to get the basics of programming, and 2D programming. and when you think your ready, or you want to, go to openGL to play around with 3D programming. I really like allegro. But it's mostly just me.

i like CxImage, well for loading multiple formats and having a nice OO interface. I have heard good things about DevIL but ive never actually used it. All depends on your definition of graphics lib Tongue the windows gdi is also good to know, because there are times when you just want to display a bmp on a window or make a simple game, and you shouldnt need to include a huge lib just for that.

I'll start Allegro in about a month after I'm done with this C++ book and understanding the basics.

Thanks.  I got it installed and used a example script and it works.  All I have to do is figure out something to make and primary information that I need to know.
