I'm on the verge of buying this book, and I was wondering whether anyone here had read it, and what they thought of it. It seems to be the highest rated game AI book on Amazon.com and GameDev.net, so I'm pretty confident, but I wanted to check with the members here first.

Any thoughts?

I've actually wanted to read that book for a long time. Never got up to buying it though. and i'm pretty sure that amazon has some fairly good reviews on it. so how about you buy and read it, and you can give us a report on it.

Just asking: is this book from the series "by example"(C by Examples(by G.Perry), C++ by Examples(S. Donovan))?

Not sure about the series, keeperofthegrove. It's published by WordWare Publishing, if that's any help.

Ok, if it's published by WordWide, then is not from the series "by examples".

Okay, I now have the book, and I would like to say this:

Programming Game AI by Example is quite simply the best computer book I have ever read. The book is a pleasure to read, the examples are clean and well-documented and I've learned a heap already (about a quarter of the way through).

It's $32.97 on Amazon, plus postage. Probably significantly more in a regular bookshop.
