So, it posted the source to the game here a year or two ago. And slowly but surely I have been working on it. And now, I have uploaded it so you guys can actually play it, and not just stare at the source thinking to yourself "this guy has very dirty code". So, here it is. Give me you your thoughts.

The Binary and resources http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DY7EL73I
The source and project file http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UY3WZH77

If you want to play the game, use the arrow keys to move, X key to jump, space bar to shoot, and the C key to use the sword (once you beat the 2nd boss).
When you purchase these powers, use the down key to use the forcefield, use down + left/right to do a fire charge, and when the character flips while falling press up + left/right to do a side spin, and hold down X to glid down using his helicopter hat.

I thinks thats all of them. If I forgot one, please tell me.

It's of course not doen yet. I want to add movies and sound and I still need to edit some of the levels. They're not quite right. So we will call this version -3.

ENJOY!!!

So far... I played the first level.  I must say I'm impressed.  Very nice game and it was pretty fun.  The movements and animations are good enough.  Maybe the collision detection with the boxes could be improved but it's also servers as strategy to move downward & forward at a great speed.  The menu was nice although users may not know what they are supposed to do.  It seems to lack user friendly info in that area.  I liked the fact that the fire shots are not unlimited.  I like the fact that my progress was saved under my name (although the screen were I wrote it was not very clear).

The game could use a timer (like Mario and other platformers to give some kind of urge to the player).

I'll play a bit more tomorrow because I'm pretty busy right now and have to leave soon.  I'll see if I can get to the bosses.

Good work.

PS:  You never mention what the keyboards are... :S

Yah, I know I'm not very good about being user friendly, I am going to make some documents for it explaining everything. Short explanations and lots of pictures Cheesy
But so you guys know, the little fireball selects things, the backspace takes you back menus.
The first menu is the name select screen, select a NEW and enter your name.
Then you get to the grid of levels. The green levels you can play, and the next red level after the last green level can also be played.
Or, go all the way over to the word PURCHASE and press enter to buy certain things like:
Increase your maximum heart count
Increase maximum energy count
purchase more hearts
purchase more energy
anti-spike will make it so spikes don't kill you right away, only damage you
the same with anti-lava
and the last few items are all powers.
