I've been getting more and more frustrated over seeing "green" posts. it's really strange to see just how ignorant all these "green" people are. First off global warming isn't a big deal to many earth based life forms, except humans. Before I hear arguments about this I had a professor who was really animate about this, and he kept up with most information in this field, when I pointed out that the earth has survived higher temperatures than the high end global warming predictions predict, he finally admitted that the big deal has to do with the loss of land and how it will affect humans. So in the end global warming is just another showcase of human greed.

If it were only that then i might even be able to deal with it, but unfortunately. The main pushers of "green" are completely ignorant.  In some cases, they waste more resources just to "bring attention" to the issue, then the issue it's self did. if they directed their effort to improving the issue rather than just complaining then maybe we might get somewhere, but instead they have found that they can use their privileged lives to protest and complain.

In my opinion people who use "Green" or "Global warming" to describe an issue, have lost all creditability. One should instead address the issue at hand. for example "increased levels of CO2, causing rise in average global temperature" or maybe "Could you attempt to improve the energy efficacy of <inset device name here>?" etc... I personally think that if we were to address issues directly instead of using general terms others won't have to decipher why you used "green", and maybe you might accidentally find a solution while you were trying to define the problem that you can suggest as well.

And yest I know, I'm just venting a little...

Ya, poor polar bears, they are dieing off so quickly that in Alaska you can get a permit to hunt them.
Humans are more of a danger to polar bears -- heck bears in general -- than global warming.
Oh, ya and polar bears can survive in warmer climates, they just prefer the artic.

It's all money. Think about how much money the Y2K scare generated. The ones who think it is about climate and the environment are just naive. A cow fart effecting the global atmosphere? give me a break.

With that said,I think we humans should do what we can to keep the planet clean, i mean there must be cleaner ways of disposing waste than dumping it in the ocean. That and the fact we generate so much waste to begin with, it's just ridiculous all the useless packaging and junk mail that gets thrown away.

I think its funny that theories like evolution get pushed right along side global warming. If we came from a puddle of goo, who are we to say what is right or wrong for the planet? Something else would just "rise from the ashes" anyway, or not, with things being so random and all.

I wouldn't quite lump it in with Y2K. Partly (mostly?) Y2K didn't have the effect that was said wasn't because of all the attention paid to it.

A friend of mine said on FB recently that it's stupid climate change sceptics are being labelled flat earthers, considering the world being flat was the scientific consensus, and those that think it's round was the one persucated.

For the record "save the planet": the planet doesn't need saving from human, it'll still be here long after humans are gone. Cheesy

A young man came to interview a bank president,

"Tell me sir, how did you become successful?"
"Two words."
"And what are they, Sir?"
"Right decisions."
"How do you make right decisions?"
"One word... experience."
"How do you get experience?"
"Two words."
"And what are they?"
"Wrong decisions."

In my chemistry class, my teacher asked us what a greenhouse gas is, and a student said "Stuff that destroys the ozone layer".

People are so uninformed.

The world will be destroyed by global warming.
I find it really funny how we can predict weather patterns 100 years from now but can't predict next weeks weather.

The world will end in 2012.
If this is true who worry about the first.
Quote from: wikipedia
Misinterpretation of the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar is the basis for a New Age belief that a cataclysm will take place on December 21, 2012. December 21, 2012 is simply the last day of the 13th b'ak'tun. But that is not the end of the Long Count because the 14th through 20th b'ak'tuns are still to come.

In my chemistry class, my teacher asked us what a greenhouse gas is, and a student said "Stuff that destroys the ozone layer".
True, heck most people don't know that greenhouse gasses at ground level are harmful while several miles up they are helpful.
